Four individuals have been charged in relation to the home invasion of popular online streamer Amouranth, also known as Kaitlyn Siragusa. She reported that she was held at gunpoint by multiple attackers demanding access to her cryptocurrency private keys.
The suspects include Dylan Nesho Campbell, Bryan Anthony Salazar Guerrero, along with two others aged between 16 and 17. Each of the older suspects has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery using a deadly weapon, as has the 17-year-old involved.
On March 2, Siragusa recounted a terrifying experience when several armed individuals entered her residence late at night, assaulted her, and demanded her cryptocurrency.
Fortunately, her husband was on a call via speakerphone, which the intruders used to try and access a crypto application. Alerted to the perilous situation, he quickly grabbed his handgun and attempted to assess the positions of the armed men within the house.
Amouranth cleverly led her attackers through the home, persuading them to look for a cold storage device. While the assailants searched for it, she seized the opportunity to run upstairs to her husband, who was monitoring the situation through the home’s network of cameras.
Once she was secure upstairs, her husband discharged three rounds at the intruders, reportedly injuring one, which prompted the invaders to flee just before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
Later on, it was revealed that her husband had been posting updates from her account while the incident unfolded. Amouranth had previously shared that she possessed approximately 211 Bitcoin, which was valued at over $20 million in November 2024, making her a potential target for criminals.
This incident highlights a growing trend of crypto-related kidnappings and extortion. In January 2025, a UK court sentenced seven gang members for kidnapping and extorting a cryptocurrency investor, who endured continuous assaults and coercion over several months. Reports also surfaced that Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped in France for a crypto ransom before being rescued by authorities.
