On March 18, the EOS Network revealed plans to rebrand as Vaulta, signaling a strategic pivot toward web3 banking while aiming to fuse decentralized technology with conventional financial systems.
The rebranding process, which will involve a token swap, is expected to take place in late May 2025, pending final confirmation.
This shift signifies years of innovation focused on harnessing Bitcoin’s expanding role in global finance. Vaulta aims to serve as a robust operating system for web3 banking, facilitating rapid transactions, blockchain integration, and decentralized management of data.
The CEO and founder of Vaulta, Yves La Rose, stated:
“This change is more than merely a new name; it’s a critical advancement in our goal to provide open and accessible financial opportunities for all.”
Rebranding Initiative
In conjunction with the rebranding, Vaulta will form a Banking Advisory Council consisting of specialists from both established finance and the blockchain arena. This council is set to offer strategic advice aimed at connecting traditional banking with decentralized finance (DeFi).
Council members will include Lawrence Truong, CEO of Systemic Trust; Didier Lavalle, CEO of Tetra; Alexander Nelson, senior director of digital finance at ATB Financial; and Jonathan Rizzo, senior business solution specialist at ATB Financial.
Nelson remarked:
“The reorientation of Vaulta towards Web3 Banking represents a major milestone for the sector. This initiative not only facilitates the entry of traditional capital into DeFi via Bitcoin but also fosters increased institutional acceptance.”
Vaulta plans to collaborate with exSat, a Bitcoin digital banking solution, further solidifying Bitcoin’s position as a cornerstone of its decentralized financial framework.
The existing technological foundation—which was initially developed under the EOS branding—involves C++ smart contract architecture, a decentralized on-chain RAM database, and features supporting multi-chain interoperability.
The company has also announced key partnerships with Ceffu, Spirit Blockchain, and Blockchain Insurance Inc.
Vaulta intends to focus on four key areas within web3 banking: Wealth Management, Consumer Payments, Portfolio Management, and Insurance. These sectors will facilitate innovative financial applications, such as blockchain-native yield generation, real-world asset (RWA) investments, and tailored insurance options.
Further partnerships are anticipated in the upcoming months. The launch of the token ticker and swap portal is still planned for late May, with updates to follow.
