Metaplanet has formed a Strategic Board of Advisors and appointed Eric Trump as its inaugural member to promote the adoption of Bitcoin.
The Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has initiated a new advisory board, bringing Eric Trump on board as its first member. This initiative is part of their strategy to enhance their presence within the Bitcoin (BTC) sector and reinforce their status as a treasury firm.
Eric Trump, recognized for his expertise in real estate and finance, is anticipated to contribute his business acumen to the board, aiding in the goal of “building one of the world’s leading Bitcoin Treasury Companies,” as stated by the company’s CEO, Simon Gerovich, in a recent post on X.
In a press release, Metaplanet noted that the new advisory board would comprise “prominent voices, speakers, and thought leaders from across the globe who are dedicated to advancing the Bitcoin mission and fostering financial innovation.”
While specific details regarding Trump’s role remain undisclosed, the firm indicated that his inclusion “underscores Metaplanet’s dedication to gathering top-tier advisory talent to fulfill its strategic goals.” They also highlighted their ongoing expansion of Bitcoin holdings and the development of new financial products, although further specifics were not provided.
Apart from Bitcoin, Eric Trump appears to have shown interest in Ethereum (ETH) as well. In early February, when ETH was trading at approximately $2,900, he expressed on X that it was “a great time to add Ethereum,” adding, “thank me later.”
However, that post did not hold up well over time. Roughly five weeks later, ETH fell by more than 30% to $1,900, and it seems Trump may have had reservations as he quietly edited the post to remove the “thank me later” remark.
