The Ethereum scaling solution Soneium has incorporated the interoperability framework Hyperlane, allowing its developers to create cross-chain dApps and token bridges.
Hyperlane has debuted on Soneium (SONY), an Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 blockchain developed by Sony Group Corporation in collaboration with Startale.
The integration with Hyperlane is pivotal for Soneium as it aims to equip its developers with third-party tools essential for building and deploying dApps. With Hyperlane’s enhancement in cross-chain interoperability, developers on the Soneium platform will be empowered to develop cross-chain applications and token bridges, connecting Soneium with various blockchains and broadening the horizons for their projects.
This update follows another significant announcement from Soneium. As noted on March 12, Soneium has teamed up with Japan’s largest social network LINE to introduce a series of mini-apps. With Hyperlane now operational on Soneium, creators of these apps will be able to utilize cross-chain interoperability for integrating their builds with other blockchains.
Despite these advancements, Soneium’s token SONY has seen a 17% decline over the past 24 hours, currently resting at $0.00014, where it has been stabilizing after a steep drop from its January peak of $0.0007.
The interoperability framework Hyperlane, previously known as Abacus Network, was officially introduced in January 2022. Its primary aim is to facilitate communication and message transfer among various blockchains, empowering developers to craft cross-chain applications and token bridges. Hyperlane is compatible with numerous popular blockchains such as Ethereum (ETH), Arbitrum (ARB), Optimism (OP), Solana (SOL), and Cosmos (ATOM), in addition to newer options like Aleph Zero, Dogechain, and now Soneium.
Beyond enabling cross-chain dApps that allow users to access features and services from multiple blockchains seamlessly, Hyperlane also provides cross-chain liquidity solutions for the movement of assets across distinct blockchain ecosystems.
