Constellation Network has unveiled Digital Evidence, a secure compliance solution tailored for law enforcement and emergency services.
This innovation builds upon Constellation’s six years of collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Iron SPIDR initiative, which focused on the protection of essential mission communications.
Digital Evidence leverages blockchain technology to establish and safeguard immutable records, thus ensuring data integrity for legal and compliance requirements.
Law enforcement agencies and various organizations can utilize this solution to enhance the efficiency of evidence gathering and reporting, ultimately cutting down on the time and costs linked to compliance matters.
Public sector entities spend over $3.6 billion each year on legal defenses related to compliance, as noted in a recent communication.
Unalterable records from evidence
The system aggregates data from police cars, fire trucks, EMS systems, and other onboard technologies, creating unalterable records that can serve as admissible evidence in court.
Constellation is collaborating with Panasonic to implement the solution via its TOUGHBOOK platform, which is prevalent in public safety applications.
The firm is also investigating pilot projects in AI datasets, retail analytics with Dor Technologies, and the protection of intellectual property.
Aidan Clifford, Director of Market Solutions at Panasonic Toughbook, emphasized the collaborative prospects, remarking, “Panasonic is eager to partner with Constellation to explore new markets with Digital Evidence, leading to cost and workflow efficiencies for our customers with connected devices.”
Organizations that adopt Digital Evidence will earn a “Smart Checkmark” certification, which verifies their data collection and auditing processes.
According to the company, Constellation is also working on integrations with business intelligence tools, indexing solutions, and AI platforms to enhance the functionality of Digital Evidence.
