Kristin Smith, the CEO of the Blockchain Association, a prominent U.S. cryptocurrency advocacy organization, is set to depart for the newly established Solana Policy Institute.
In a notice released on April 1, the Blockchain Association announced that Smith will step down as CEO on May 16. It was revealed that she will assume the role of president at the Solana Policy Institute starting May 19.
The announcement did not elaborate on the reasons behind her move to the Solana advocacy group, nor did it indicate who would take the helm following her exit. Attempts to reach the Blockchain Association for further clarification went unanswered at the time of publication.

Smith has been with the association since 2018 and previously served as deputy chief of staff for former Montana Representative Denny Rehberg. She will succeed Miller Whitehouse-Levine, the outgoing CEO of the DeFi Education Fund, who also transitions to the Solana Policy Institute in a CEO capacity. Whitehouse-Levine stated that the organization aims to enlighten U.S. policymakers about Solana.
