Justin Sun has joined the ranks of crypto billionaires featured on the Forbes global billionaires list, while CZ continues to hold his position as the wealthiest figure in cryptocurrency.
According to the Forbes World’s Billionaires List for 2025, Justin Sun boasts a net worth of $8.5 billion, placing him at the 353rd position. The founder of Tron recently made it onto the list this year, although Arkham Intelligence previously assessed Sun’s wealth to be approximately $1.4 billion as of January 2024.
With Justin Sun’s recent addition, the total number of crypto billionaires on the list has risen to sixteen, collectively amassing over $164 billion in net worth.
Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, has maintained his status as the richest individual in the crypto sector. Ranking 24th, CZ saw his net worth nearly double from $33 billion to $62.9 billion within the last year, despite facing fines and spending four months in custody. After stepping down from his position at Binance, CZ now leads YZi Labs, which was previously known as Binance Labs.
The second wealthiest figure in the crypto world is Giancarlo Devasini, the Chief Financial Officer of Tether (USDT), who holds the 90th spot with a net worth of about $22.4 billion. He is recognized as Tether’s largest shareholder. Notably, four of the sixteen crypto billionaires hail from Tether, including former CEO Jean-Louis van der Velde, current CEO Paolo Ardoino, and Stuart Hoegne, the company’s General Counsel.
Identical twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, share the 1141st position with each having a net worth of $3.2 billion. Gemini, established in 2014, currently handles $30 million in crypto transactions daily.
Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam, co-founders of Coinbase (BASE), are also featured on the billionaire list. Armstrong ranks 311th with a net worth of $9.2 billion, while Ehrsam finds himself at 1362nd place with $2.7 billion.
Michael Saylor, Chairman of Strategy, has seen his net worth surge by $3 billion compared to last year, landing him in 430th place with approximately $7.4 billion. Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, has been rebranded this year and is recognized as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin (BTC), owning 528,185 BTC valued at around $45 billion.
Other prominent figures from the crypto landscape included on the list are Chris Larsen, co-founder of Ripple (XRP), Jed McCaleb of Stellar (XLM), venture capitalist Tim Draper, Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital Holdings, and Matthew Roszak, chairman of Bloq.
