Ripple has incorporated RLUSD into its enterprise-level cross-border payments platform, Ripple Payments, as its market cap experiences a remarkable 118% increase monthly.
This development enhances the utility of US-pegged RLUSD within Ripple’s international transaction framework and aligns with the token’s introduction on Kraken, further expanding accessibility for both institutional and retail users.
According to Artemis data, RLUSD’s market capitalization surged to nearly $200 million in March, just three months after its launch in December 2024.
Moreover, the monthly transfer volume for the stablecoin rose from $466 million to over $720 million last month, representing a growth of 54.6%.
RLUSD for Cross-border Transactions
The integration with Ripple Payments is part of a staged rollout, with select clients, including BKK Forex and iSend, already leveraging RLUSD for their cross-border treasury operations.
Jack McDonald, Ripple’s SVP of stablecoins, stated that RLUSD is being increasingly adopted across both crypto-native ventures and traditional financial markets, including as collateral for tokenized real-world assets.
The announcement indicated that RLUSD is designed to cater to institutional transactions, in contrast to stablecoins aimed at retail consumers. Ripple intends to broaden RLUSD’s role within its payment ecosystem to additional enterprise clients in the future.
Access Expansion through Kraken Listing
The listing of RLUSD on Kraken signifies its availability on another prominent centralized exchange, adding to previous listings on LMAX Digital, Bitstamp, Zero Hash, and Bullish.
This listing enhances RLUSD’s market presence and allows retail traders to access the asset via a trustworthy US exchange.
In January, Ripple collaborated with Chainlink to incorporate RLUSD data feeds into the decentralized finance landscape, facilitating further utilization among retail users.
The integration of RLUSD into Ripple Payments, along with its listing on Kraken, underscores Ripple’s ongoing commitment to merging crypto infrastructure with regulated financial markets.
