The newly introduced PROMPT token from Wayfinder has experienced a significant decline of 68% from its initial peak following launch, coinciding with a suspension of the Kaito airdrop triggered by a front-run exploit that has resulted in the theft of 119 ETH during the claims process.
Debuting on April 9, Wayfinder (PROMPT) was made available on several prominent exchanges, including OKX, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate.io, Coinbase, and Binance Alpha. However, the celebration of the token’s launch was overshadowed by a Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) exploit whereby a bot named “Yoink” pre-empted the PROMPT airdrop aimed at Kaito (KAITO) users, making off with 119 Ethereum (ETH).
This MEV bot specifically targeted the Wayfinder airdrop claim contract, taking advantage of identified weaknesses to siphon funds from users before they could receive their designated PROMPT tokens. Prompted by user reports of the exploit, the team managing the airdrop swiftly paused the claims process to resolve the situation. The team has assured full reimbursement to those affected, covering both gas fees and any stolen tokens. As stated by the team, the smart contract itself remains secure; the exploit is attributed to the MEV bot rather than a flaw within the contract.
The PROMPT airdrop for Kaito users was part of a comprehensive token distribution initiative from Wayfinder, which allocated 40% of the total PROMPT supply to the community. This distribution includes 39% for PRIME token stakers, 1% available for free sign-ups, and a 5 million PROMPT allocation dedicated to Kaito AI’s Social Mission program.
This program has allocated:
- 4 million PROMPT tokens for eligible Emerging Yappers who accumulated over 90 Yaps but had fewer than 1,100 smart followers to accommodate follower fluctuations during the process.
- 1 million PROMPT tokens for Emerging Yappers who gathered fewer than 90 Yaps but earned more than 0 Yaps, as a recognition of their contributions throughout the program.
- A 30% bonus reward was also conferred to qualified KAITO holders.
In the meantime, the price of PROMPT continues to decline after launch, currently trading at $0.18, reflecting a 26% drop over the past 24 hours and a 68% decrease from its peak of $0.59 reached right after the token’s launch on April 10.
