Metaplanet has intensified its Bitcoin purchasing efforts this year, acquiring more BTC in the past six weeks than it did throughout all of 2024.
Recent data indicates that under the direction of Simon Gerovich, the firm acquired 2,290 BTC through eight transactions between March 3 and April 14. This impressive buying spree averages approximately 51 BTC each day.
To provide some context for this rapid accumulation, Metaplanet purchased 1,762 BTC in 2024, investing approximately $136 million.
This number has already been surpassed in 2025, with bolder purchases and increased spending illustrating a clear long-term vision for the leading cryptocurrency.
Within the last six weeks, the largest individual acquisition took place on April 1, when the company bought 696 BTC. On the other hand, the smallest buy transactions were for 150 BTC each, conducted on March 18 and March 24.
Additionally, the latest acquisition was made on April 14, when Metaplanet secured 319 BTC for around ¥3.78 billion (approximately $26.3 million) at an average price of ¥11.85 million ($82,549) per coin.
Looking ahead, the firm, led by Gerovich, intends to maintain its momentum. Metaplanet aims to build a reserve of 10,000 BTC by the conclusion of 2025, with a longer-term objective of holding 21,000 BTC by 2026.
Currently, Metaplanet possesses 4,525 BTC, valued at around $386.3 million.
